Thursday, May 26, 2016 Stefano Benedettelli, professor of the University of Florence will hold a workshop at the Organic Farm Floriddia ( Peccioli - Pisa ).

The seminar will cover in detail the techniques that the University of Florence is using to select the varieties of ancient grain and for  Evolutionary Participatory Breeding . The activity is part of the action D7 (training and seminars for agriculture specialist) .

Sowing wheat in Tuscany and Marche

After sowing of green manure in October , in November 2015, they were carried out the first sowings of accessions of durum wheat on farms involved in the project and in the Test Center of Terre Regionali Toscane and Marche Region. In Tuscany at the farms Voltolini, Sterpaia, Floriddia and Terre Regionali Tuscane, in the Marche region on farms Cancellieri, Mattei , Simoncini and Molini e Pastifici. The structure of the scheme of the field is the same in the four farms , while it is different randomization of varieties per parcel . At TERETO, experts are preparing schemes for planting of varieties chosen for multiplication and they are evaluating the varieties to be used for crossing this year .

Two days of metting in Tuscany

The University of Florence organizes two days of meetings dedicated to the project LIFE participatory seed in Tuscany .

On June 5, 2016 there will be a meeting devoted to farmers and technicians at the Sterpaia park where the project will be presented and discussed the possible implications with farmers .

The next day, June 6, 2016 at the Plains of Milia the afternoon will be dedicated to all the stakeholders in the cereal sector : restaurant owners , the farm managers , pasta makers , bakers , technical . You can visit the experimental fields and discuss the project's impact on the value of the territory and tourism. The day is part of the action B5 - establishment of technical meetings with key stakeholders .
